Our father was the mechanic at Erie Airlines from about 1950 thru mid-1970s. He was always very proud to have been part of the Tin Goose history and I recall rides in it as a small child. Dad, who passed away in 2000, would be pleased to know the tri motor that he knew so intimately (down to the smallest nut and screw) has become cherished by others!

In 1976 our family was on a cross country drive in our 1931 Model A Ford sedan and visited Island Airlines. We were able to park our Model A under the wing of the Tri-Motor for a photo shot and then took a ride out to the first stop. I had the pleasure of riding in the second seat next to the pilot for the journey. What a thrill.

Great place to visit. We were hoping to see inside the new hanger.Didn't know it was not open yet. We will be back to see it when it opens. And hopefully take a flight on the Tri-Motor.We like the History of the Port Clinton area. We also enjoy eating at the Diner. That's a nice addition to the Museum.

Very interesting. The EAA Tri-Motor 5-AT is in Tucson this week and needs a tire change. I expect I will be working on it tomorrow. Istumbled across video of Cody Welch, who is one of the people I am trying to contact about the tire change. I did download a maintenance manual that I just found, and will try and print it out tomorrow.

You should see our plane now, we just moved into our new hanger last week.

We have started setting up the wing spars to start assembly of the wings.

Check out the latest pictures of our assembly in the new hanger. We've got a lot of room to move and work on it now.

I had the chance to fly the tri-motor between Port Clinton and Put-in-Bay a few times in the early 70's. It was a thrill then and I look forward to a nostalgic flight soon.

I first flew in a Ford Tri Motor from Port Clinton to Middle Bass Island to go ice fishing with my dad in the winter of 1947. Glad to see Ford's are returning to Ohio

My first airplane ride was the Ford Tri-motor from Port Clinton to Put-In-Bay on a boy scout camping trip in the 1970s. Nice to see one is being restored to fly in the same area.
